Hi there, I'm Rachel. I'm a 21 year old college graduate (I can finally say that!) who majored in computer science and math and I'm hella nerdy. I'm probably the biggest Avatar fan you will ever meet. I blog about my life, Avatar, Dragonlance, books, Jewish things, vegetarian things, and super cute animals (especially bunnies!) I love making new friends, so please message me if you want to talk! ^_^

Thanks for waiting, guys, I hope you like it!

The song is A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.

This debuted at Connecticon 2014 and won Best Romance, which is super exciting!!

But yes I love these two babies and no one can convince me that they aren’t the cutest couple ever.

In case you missed it the first time! :3

So a funny story: When I left Connecticon yesterday, I walked into Union Station at Hartford to catch a bus home. As soon as I walked in, I saw Janet Varney sitting on one of the benches waiting, and I stood there for a second in disbelief and I must have been staring because she caught my eye and smiled and said, “Yes, I take the train just like everyone else!” and then I smiled like an idiot and laughed and said something like “it was great to meet you!” and then walked out the doors towards where the buses were waiting, even though I still had a while before my bus came. I would have tried to talk to her longer but she was with someone, (I think her agent maybe?), and I wasn’t sure if that was cool or not or whatever and I was really flustered and also embarrassed! Plus I wasn’t sure if she remembered me because she met a lot of fans and I wasn’t in cosplay anymore at the bus station, but yeah that was pretty awesome!

This one was really cute—Amon taking Janet Varney’s bending away!
Plus, I love how convention staff member is smiling here. If you see this, you have a lovely smile!

Non-Avatar cosplayers of note:

Among some of the awesome Avatar/Korra cosplayers at Connecticon:

Let me know if you are in any of these pictures so I can credit you!

These two amazing people made giant Raava and Vaatu props/kites and when I first saw them I was dressed as Raava and was like, “IT’S ME!!” =D Naturally I had to get a photo. Later I saw them flying Raava and Vaatu like kites outside when it was windy, which was super awesome.

I got to meet Janet Varney! =D She is super cool and really nice. I also got her autograph.

Also I’m back from Connecticon. My Avatar AMV won best drama! :D Also expect pictures soon. Probably not tonight since I’m exhausted.
Just letting everyone know that I won’t be blogging too much from Thursday-Sunday because I’m going to a conference for work and then after that to Connecticon.

I’m going to try and queue up some stuff so that my blog isn’t completely inactive.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Now I want to do a photoshoot with my Princess Yue cosplay

At Connecticon maybe? I’d need to find a good spot and a photographer.

Long story short: I will be going to both the Google conference and Connecticon, with an overnight flight in between. All is well!

And I just got my FMV finalist notification! :D For all those at the CTcon FMV contest, be prepared for some intense Avatar nostalgia. :3

And I have to get up at like 4 a.m. tomorrow morning because I’m going to my cousin’s wedding, so bed time.

Is anyone going to Connecticon? I’m on the fence about going. In the past I’ve liked it better than Anime Boston, which is an incentive, but I’m having doubts now, I don’t know why. If I knew there was a big group of Avatar people going, I’d feel better.

I’m debating whether or not to post the Avatar AMV I just finished on YouTube now, or to wait until Connecticon since I’m probably going to enter it in the FMV contest there. Hmm…..
